Our Focus

Council conducted a review of the Mainstreet Committees in 2007-2008. The external reviewer suggested that the City Centre Committee focus its activities on projects that will create a cleaner, safer city and that it should do so by aligning programs with Council’s own priorities.

Programs are coordinated through sub-committees and working parties are convened for special projects.

The Committee is working to :

• a 4-year Strategic Plan
• a 1-year Business Plan which is revised and provided to Council in February each year
• work plans established by the sub-committees.

From time to time our working parties like to call on specialist knowledge on a project-by-project basis to help in the planning of initiatives. In these cases a reference group is set up to help Infinitus staff develop a project plan. Specialist knowledge that helps includes website strategies, fund-raising, technical knowledge around street cleaning, graffiti, engineering, design, marketing and media, historical research, statistics, business planning and many other areas of expertise. If you feel you could help occasionally on a working party  we’d be glad to hear from you and understand a little of what commitment you could make.
