The Newcastle City Centre Committee

The Newcastle City Centre Committee represents business, property owners and residents engaged in the city’s CBD. It operates under Council’s guidelines for Mainstreet Committees.
The Committee is a Committee of Council. Members are appointed after nominations are called. The current members are experienced business, educational and community leaders.
The Committee meets monthly at 7.30 am on the 3rd Tuesday each month at Switchpoint Centre. Meetings are open to the public and visitors are welcome. Agendas, minutes and details published regularly on this site and through Council.
The Committee operates a range of programs based on good practice in similar projects across the country and overseas.
Through its work the Committee undertakes research on aspects of the City Centre and makes its reports available to Council and the public.
Newcastle is acknowledged to have a great approach to living a balanced lifestyle with many opportunities for sport, leisure and cultural activities – a great way to live a balanced life in a good-sized city. What’s to do In Newcastle?
